Research

Sedelogic products are built on years of veterinary-led research focused on saddle fit, pressure distribution, and equine back health. The brand was developed in collaboration with veterinary universities across Europe to better understand how saddles, pads, and rider weight interact with the horse’s back during movement.

Veterinary Research in Action

Sedelogic was developed by Dr. Jerome Stokkermans, an equine veterinarian with over 15 years of experience working with horses affected by back pain and performance issues. His work was supported by research at several renowned veterinary universities across Europe, where he studied how saddle fit, rider impact, and weight distribution affect equine comfort and movement.

This research included the world’s first pressure measurements under the saddle during real riding conditions, including jumping full courses. The findings revealed how traditional pads often fail to distribute pressure effectively, forming the foundation for Sedelogic’s advanced saddle pads and tendon boots.

Designed For Every Discipline

Sedelogic saddle pads are engineered to meet the unique demands of different equestrian sports while providing optimal comfort and protection. Hunter and jumper pads offer excellent shock absorption for high-impact activities like show jumping. The lightweight, breathable layers help keep the horse’s back dry and distribute pressure evenly.

Sedelogic also offers a versatile range of half pads. The breathable English half pad delivers orthopedic support, even weight distribution, and additional shock absorption, making it ideal for cross-country riding or horses with sensitive backs. A 2-ply all-purpose half pad is available for riders who want extra cushioning during dressage, endurance, or general training.

Specialty Pads for Targeted Support

The S-Curve half pad provides targeted correction for asymmetry, uneven shoulders, or sensitive backs. Its thermoplastic rear panels allow a custom fit, helping improve saddle balance and comfort for the horse.

Sedelogic’s therapeutic lunging pad is lightweight and designed to absorb shock while protecting the horse from impact. Its breathable construction keeps the back dry during training, making it ideal for lunging, rehabilitation, or exercise without a saddle.

For Western riders, 3-ply Western pads offer effective pressure relief and shock absorption. The breathable materials help dissipate heat and moisture while supporting the horse during extended riding sessions or high-impact work.

Custom-Fit Sedelogic Tendon Boots

Sedelogic tendon boots use the same thermoplastic technology as the S-Curve pad to provide a precise, custom fit. The thermoplastic layer can be softened with a standard hair dryer and molded directly to the horse’s leg. Once cooled, the boot hardens, combining shock-absorbing inner layers with a supportive outer shell for maximum protection without raising the horse’s leg temperature during exercise.

This technology is also used in Sedelogic saddle pads, helping improve saddle fit, relieve shoulder pressure, prevent back issues, and maintain a dry, comfortable back. Sedelogic products including saddle pads, tendon boots, and chin protectors are trusted by top international riders for performance, comfort, and equine welfare.
